In addition to general financial and retirement planning, Gary also provides specific investment advice, helping his nationwide clientele by designing and implementing a balanced investment program. As a fee-only advisor, Gary avoids the conflicts of interest that arise with advisors who are compensated through the products they recommend.
Gary brings with him an educational and professional background in personal and family financial counseling. He holds the Certified Financial Planner license and is a Qualified Kingdom Advisor. Gary maintains his expertise by spending hundreds of hours in continuing education each year. He is a graduate of the University of Dallas with an MBA and Miami Christian College with a BS in Psychology.
Gary's financial articles can be read weekly in the Sunday edition of the Wichita Falls Times Record News and their monthly Business-to-Business publication. He can be seen regularly as the host of MoneyCent$, a televised financial talk show. Gary taught business and management courses at Midwestern State University, Wayland Baptist University, and Vernon College. In addition, he speaks regularly to Church and civic groups and puts on periodic workshops and seminars. His insights are the subject of numerous television interviews and newspaper articles. He publishes a weekly e-Newsletter (available at www.PersonalMoneyPlanning.com) and reviews books for the Journal of Financial Planning.
Being part of a community is important to Gary. He thinks it is essential to give time to make the community he lives in a better place. Gary actively volunteers in various capacities with many area charities. Currently he is on the boards of Workforce Solutions North Texas, the Museum of North Texas History, and the Texoma Planned Giving Council.
Gary’s background is more than just finance. He was a submarine sailor in the Navy, a training supervisor for Texas Utilities, and has consulted with several Fortune 500 companies in the area of personnel productivity.
